This #sketchbooksabado study started out as a simple study on perspective. As I worked on it, it transitioned into a study on capturing accurate light and shadow and now, given the time we’re in, has transitioned into a study on something else altogether.⠀
⠀
In recent weeks I’ve had to make numerous runs for groceries and basic household necessities like all of you including many frequent trips to the post office to ship orders. ⠀
⠀
I overheard my neighbors outside talking through their fences earlier about their conflicting views on who is considered an essential & non-essential worker. ⠀
Nurses, doctors, all of these employees at each of these grocery stores, USPS personnel, they’re all essential & so very appreciated. ❤️
⠀
After my relationship with God, my creative expression has probably been the most consistently important thing to me throughout my life. As an artist my small business is by no means “essential” according to the worlds standards. And that’s fine. I was never made to be a doctor, a nurse or any form of noble first responder. ⠀
⠀
By God’s standards, I am however, very essential — and you are too.
Capturing and documenting the beauty of a moment, being moved by a gorgeous landscape, seeing (feeling, really) in the spirit beyond the facades we put up as a form of protection, and celebrating people in their totality; beautiful flaws, imperfections and all, are things that have always come naturally to me and therefore have always translated easily into my work. I know many of you are the same, and I’m 100% certain these things are very much essential to our awesome Creator of it all; God. ⠀
⠀
The subject in this study is the light of my life, even still at 20 years old, lol my son Jaden. ❤️
