I’ve been selected to participate in the 2015 LIC Arts Open Exhibit on May 13th-17th, 2015 in Long Island City, Queens! I’m so excited and humbled for this opportunity. LIC Arts Open is in its 5th year of being Queens’ largest arts festival –it brings together artists, residents, businesses, tourists, local government, art enthusiasts and collectors to help foster Long Island City’s cultural and economic development. The festival has done much to raise the profile of Long Island City, home to one of the largest and most diverse arts communities in New York City. To top it off, I’ll be taking over their Instagram on Sunday April 19, 2015. Follow us both for updates on the event and to learn more about this awesome borough of mine — Queens, NYC! Support the arts by following along on Instagram at @LICArtsOpen. I'll post all sorts of goodies relating to the exhibit on my INSTAGRAM.
SPRING
Spring has indeed sprung and I’m absolutely E L A T E D. I’m longing for high doses of Vitamin D. Foliage. Fauna. Beauty, the ocean, beach and LIFE! Of course, with the gorgeous weather comes street fair and festival season — and needless to say, I’ve been busy prepping for those festivals we’ll be particpating in here in New York City. However, I took a much needed breather today to just aimlessly “create”. These cute pastel pots are a snippet of what I came up with. I spent the morning painting them & I must say, I’m pretty pleased with myself!
Mother's day - HER WAY
Can we take a moment to talk about Mother’s day and the woes of all “Hallmark holidays”? You love your mother, mothers’, grandmother, aunt, sister, etc. They’re unique, special and if you could, you’d give them any and everything their heart desires. Yet, Mother’s day is right around the corner and “any” and “everything” you come across are completely generic.
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love the wonderous experience of travel, and the nostalgia a beautiful image from that moment in time quickly evokes long after we’ve settled back into real life. Maybe that special mother in your life is from Puerto Rico and hasn’t been able to visit in ages. She dreams of being back en la isla, overlooking at the mountains of Caguas and the glorious foliage found within El Yunque. This is the reason why I created a collection of beautiful, quality, custom-made calendars, gratitude cards, framed prints and gift sets; all of which are available on my etsy shop here. They’re super cute and such a unique gift that will last well beyond a box of chocolates, a massage or dinner! Check them out below and be sure to visit my etsy shop for details and customization options.
