Artist Feature Friday: "Portales" by Samuel Lind

Hello Art lovers! If you're anything like those of us who are all about visual stimuli, you're probably an avid user of Instagram and have therefore heard of the popular "instameets". One account in particular, @HashtagPR holds periodic instameets in San Juan, PR. Needless to say, their instameets have a pretty large turnout and coordination involves the help of some awesome volunteers. I was contacted by HashtagPR to donate some of my photography prints to provide to their volunteers as a gift and of course, I was very happy to do so!
The beauty of natural materials is like an oasis when living a stressful, urban city. The presence of materials easily found in nature influences the mood & our environment. Marilyn (being the consummate craftperson that she is) came up with these and they were on FIRE during the holidays. She used my original photographs of Puerto Rico and transferred them onto basswood plaques and created some beautifully, rustic home decor pieces.
Vintage and nostalgic, these pieces are similiar to the popular wood panel art found in many shops throughout Puerto Rico and makes for the perfect gift or housewarming present for the person in your life who holds Puerto Rico and travel near to their heart. This beauty comes sealed with a luster/semi gloss finish, hanging hardware and free giftwrap. Want one? Visit the etsy shop HERE.
Curious to learn more about her process? Check out the shots below....
Check these out and more home decor pieces, photography and art on our Etsy shop at www.lenadelsolphoto.etsy.com.. mention this blog post and we'll be sure to throw in a FREE gift as well!
